Membership
The Association was founded by practicing maritime practitioners
and arbitrators to promote sound arbitration and to establish ethical
standards for its membership it is already the primary Alternate
Dispute Resolution (ADR) organization in the maritime industry in
Nigeria . Its membership focus are ship-owners, shippers, insurers,
oil and Gas majors, oil service companies, law firms, ship-brokers
and ship-agents. It is a private organization, whose participating
members are groups of maritime professionals. Members provide the
support for the much needed service in Nigeria .
Individual Members can be elected to the roll of arbitrators prepared
to accept appointments; corporate members will receive group discounts
at MAAN knowledge development events and conferences.

(supporting member), Fellow of the Institute of Directors London
(Nigerian Branch), member Nigerian Society of International Law

of the Nigerian Bar Association, Section on Business Law, Committee
on Arbitration and ADR.
The Honorary Secretary - Dr. Omogbai Omo - Eboh
ACI Arb is a partner at the law firm O. Omo-Eboh & CO. , specializing
in Maritime, Marine Insurance; Insurance and Banking law. The University
of Lagos LL.B. (received the Federal Government Merit Award for
excellent academic performance). Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree with
distinction London School of Economics ( University of London ).
Awarded a Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in laws in 1990 by the London
School of Economics as a Professor W.G. Hart Scholar and
also held the Overseas Research Students Award by the Committee
of Principals and Vice-Chancellors of United Kingdom Universities.
Lecturer in law at the University of Buckingham , England , as well
as a pioneer lecturer and co-established Institute of Maritime Law
of the Lagos State University which he helped establish in 1999.
He has written extensively on current legal issues and regulation
in local and international journals and was consulted by the Law
Commission of England & Wales on the reform of the Third Parties
(Rights Against Insurers) Act 1930 (UK) He has participated in and
presented papers at the Maritime Seminar for Judges organized by
the Nigerian Shippers' Council. Member of the Nigerian Bar Association,
the International Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of
Arbitrators ( UK ).
